Community Presentation.

A damp night in November saw the Village Hall host our 2nd public meeting to update everybody on our opposition to the two planned major developments that would change the nature of our village forever. Well over 100 people attended with BBC East Midlands covering the event on their East Midlands Today and Politics East Midlands programmes.

The meeting focused on the proposed Segro development, as part of the Freeport, on 250 acres of agricultural land between the A453 and Clements Gate (Long Holden). This would effectively remove the “green lung” between the village and the Motorway/Moto Services. Protect Diseworth has been working behind the scenes to prepare for the official planning application which we now expect in the next 3 to 4 months.

At the end of the Village Hall meeting, we were also delighted to get offers of help to fundraise, bring expertise/knowledge, and introduce us to other people/organisations who could help, and these have all been followed up and have turned out to be invaluable. If you think you can help in any way then please make contact with the team through the form on the Contact page.
