GUIDE TO RESPOND TO DRAFT LOCAL PLAN

Respond by end of Sunday 17 March 2024.

General

NWLDC’s ways to respond are set out on their website:-  www.nwleicestershire.gov.uk

To access Draft Local Plan Log onto website. In search box, type in ‘Draft Local Plan’ or click here.

We think the NWLDC on-line reply form is so “clunky” that it’s almost unusable, so suggest you use their second option and use the response form from the same page. Once completed, email it to:- planning.policy@nwleicestershire.gov.uk

If you don’t have access to a PC or printer, we can give you a hard copy and after you have filled it in, we will send it back on your behalf.

You can send in hard copies by post, but this is not ideal – NWLDC have said they may well get lost.

Whichever method you use to respond NWLDC ask you to set out which document and which policy/paragraph your comments relate to.

WRITING YOUR RESPONSE

It is better that you use own words, but we have set out a few points below that you might want to think about. Although you are of course free to comment as you wish, we think that the key documents, what they relate to and their paragraph numbers are:-

Document:- Draft Local Plan

General Comments to make [if you wish]:-

  • Plan concentrates too much development around MI J24, 23A and EMA.

  • Does not properly address issues of over-development.

  • Does not properly consider adverse implications to infrastructure.

  • Does not address issues of loss of farmland, food production or agriculture.

  • Does not properly justify baseline modelling used to calculate housing and employment land requirements.

  • Far too complicated for most people to easily navigate to make specific references.

Anything else you might want to say.

If you only want to comment on the two potential developments:-

Isley Woodhouse

If you have concerns about any/all of the following:-

  • Inappropriate Location [No separation from village]

  • Cumulative Development Overwhelming around Diseworth.

  • Flood Risk.

  • Damage to Community. Quality of Life. Mental Health.

  • Legacy:- Future generations.

  • Loss of heritage, countryside, amenity and farmland.

  • Pollution: Light. Noise. Air. Water.
